About Me:
My parents owned Mark Furniture and that was always the family's primary focus. However on the side, my father would by a rental house or commercial building or trade one piece of land for another, we always had work to do or rent to collect. Since my formative years included real estate I felt it was destiny to become a real estate broker. I graduated from the University of South Carolina and received a degree in Finance, then came back to work with my brother who had taken over the furniture business and helped create a wonderful career and shopping experience that is still thriving today.
In 2008 it was time for a change.
I had been working in Real Estate for about 5 years, mostly as an informed investor, and decided to work full time as a Realtor. Even though Real estate at the time was collapsing it allowed me to get systems in place which would benefit my clients then and today.
2015 was a pivotal time in my career. The commercial market was starting back in the area and I was asked by many local property owners for assistance.
It was time to go back to school and become a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) This organization teaches its members to look at all aspects of the investment in real estate. It supplies the tools and contacts above and beyond what the normal Real estate agent has at their fingertips. In turn all of this helps my hometown of Beaufort and my clients.

Being a Beaufort business owner and a third generation Beaufortonian has given me an understanding of our beautiful and unique area, and an enjoyment in helping new clients find that beauty and enjoyment.

When I am not helping someone with real estate my interests are Quail and Dove Hunting, flats fishing and scuba.

We left Beaufort after receiving military orders in 2008. We tried to sell it before we left and had such a horrible experience with the realtor we hired at the time that we decided to rent until the market came back. We finally reached a point where we were ready to sell and our property manager recommended Michael. He was able to sell the house a lot faster than we anticipated and at a higher price we were happy with. Overall, he was great to work with. If we ever decide to go back to the Beaufort area and settle down, he will be our first contact.

Great home buying experience. Michael was alway available to show homes and answer questions. We looked at a ton of homes, and Michael was very helpful narrowing down our search and sending us listings we would be interested in.

We could NOT have bought this house without Michael's help! My husband got military orders to move to Parris Island, and we knew we wanted to buy a house, so a family friend who is a Realtor made inquiries as to who was the "best of the best" around here to trust us with, and referred us to Michael Mark. From the very first contact through closing and even past that until we took possession of the house, we could not have asked for more from a Realtor.

Michael was fabulous in helping me weed through all the online resources - I picked houses from Zillow and MLS that appealed to me, and he was really amazing at analyzing each to let me know which met my basic criteria (things I couldn't have known from online alone).

When I arrived for a 2 day house hunting trip, Michael cleared his calendar to help me search. We saw 12 houses on Monday, and 7 houses on Tuesday. He was always patient, kind, helpful, and had fabulous local knowledge.

We put an offer on our top choice on Tuesday, and MIchael was great at helping give us advice as to how and where to negotiate. They accepted early Wednesday, and I flew back to rejoin my husband on Thursday.

Throughout the closing process, Michael was instrumental in organizing the VA appraisal and the various inspections we requested. He followed through (as we were still long distance) to confirm repairs.

And when we finally got to our house, a month after closing, he had left a bottle of wine and some snacks for us to welcome us to our new house.

Really and truly, I can't imagine ever buying a house without Michael as our Realtor! I trust him implicitly, and appreciate every single thing he did for us. We have been living in our new home for 5 months now and love it.
